It is also important that your chosen site has good drainage and is on solid ground. Preferably the site should be on a firm level ground. If the structure is to be installed on a slope, please inform us prior to installation. All our structures are supported on round poles and we can supply longer pole supports to create a level base.
After determining the location, clear the construction area. Remove all debris, roots, flowers, plants, grass and any large rocks. If the ground has been excavated and refilled with aggregate or soil, please make sure it has been packed down firmly. If you intend to install a hot tub in your structure, you may want to consider a concrete foundation instead.
Please Note: The cost of each thatched structure supplied and fitted on site assumes that the construction area is level, on solid ground and cleared of all debris. If the construction area is not then additional cost may be incurred.
During the construction of your thatched structure, you may have to take measures to protect your garden and any landscaping. If traffic across your grass and landscaping is inevitable, our fitters will take all steps to protect your garden. Please make the members of our construction team aware of any prized plants and flowers! If it is impossible to sidestep any of your cherished plants or shrubs during construction, it may be wise to dig them up for relocation. Naturally, the best way is to do your landscaping around the thatched structure after construction. |
